The Pragmatic Social Action last week, engaged communities in Tharaka Nithi, Makueni, Busia and Turkana when it conducted feasibility visits intended to establish climate smart adaptation farming.

Led by programme officers from the PSA, farmers shared their preferred kinds of crops as advised by their local agricultural extension staff from the ministry of agriculture. “I am hopeful that once PSA launches the climate-smart farming here, my fortunes will change,” said Micheal Gitonga of Ciakariga in Tharaka Nithi. Jackson Akoyo, a programme officer at the PSA assured farmers that plans are in top gear to launch programmes that will revolutionise farming in drought hit areas with twin agenda of empowering farmers adapt to climate change while also increase income for rural farmers
