Day 1/5 of the Fit for Purpose workshop at Kusyombunguo, in Makueni County.
The Fit for Purpose Workshop began today, the 18th of Feb, 2025 in Makueni County, bringing together 46 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) focal points to strengthen accountability frameworks within the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) Engagement Framework.
The workshop is organized by VSO in partnership with the National Treasury and the Kenya Platform for Climate Governance (KPCG)
The five-day training is designed to equip participants with tools and strategies to effectively monitor and evaluate climate action initiatives in their respective counties.
Using targeted sessions on organizational development, the focal points will learn how to build and manage networks using VSO’s group formation tools and templates enabling them to enhance coordination and collaboration within their networks.
In addition, the training focuses on knowledge-building by providing participants with essential communication, advocacy, and social accountability skills.
Through VSO’s participatory advocacy models and tools, focal points will gain practical insights into influencing policy, mobilizing communities, and ensuring accountability in climate finance governance at the grassroots level.
Finally, by fostering collaboration among civil society actors, the workshop will promote shared learning and capacity building, ensuring that locally-led climate actions are impactful and sustainable. It will also serve as a platform for focal points to discuss challenges, share best practices, and develop actionable solutions. These efforts contribute to more effective and accountable climate finance governance, reinforcing the role of CSOs in driving transparency and good governance in climate action.
